Countdown Timer In MP

so hey i am the own or the site called:

and i was wondering if one of u guys could make me a code/script

in the code/script i need a countdown timer for the mini profiles and profiles (mainly mini profiles)

in other words an editable(per member/by member) timed countdown for a special day inside there MP

so yea.. thats what i would like to be made
idk what i could do in return but ill make a link from my site going to this site (hope thats good enough in return)

where would you want the data stored? personal text? signature? location?

I already have a countdown timer code that would fit this nicely actually, but would need to store their event data somewhere. signature would be ideal because it has the most available, but its up to you.

well I had to ask because WHERE you store data can be tricky. if you already have a code running that uses up all the personal text space (like yourshop) then there wont be any room available for storing new data. Crossfury uses the website field. some codes use the location field. dregondahl's mini profile background editor stores in teh signature.

so I will write something that stores data in the location field. it will need to store the event date, event title, and optionally some text that the countdown will display when event is reached.

while waiting, go into my submisions area, and grab a copy of the countdown code. Place it in global header. You will want to get the CSS that goes along with it as well.

I should be able to have this working before the weekend gets here.

Hey Wormo you see we have the contest somewhat going between me and him in making this. I told him there is no way he could make this. Unlike him, im making it myself, and i added the "each person with there own timer" in there as a challenge for myself.

I resorted with having to probably put this info in the sig area. I dont see how you could fit all of the date in a personal text field, to me thats alot to put in there its alteast8 charaters including year(4) Month(2) Date(2). How could you fit all of that in that small of a field?

PS, also if its not too much to ask since this WAS i competition. LOL. do you think you can let me finish mine? then compare it to yours? or just finish yours, and when im done ill look at yours and see what all could be improved.

Eh idk if it was really a contest. I wanted to make something like this before. I never used Date in javascript nor have i tired putting something in the personal text(etc) for each person. So im making it anyway. But Something happened and i was like ok Techno you make it and see what all you can do. and He agreed, and i knew he doesnt know squat in javascript. so i just said Good luck in a sense, and kept working on mine. Then... Here we are. Sorry, it was more me wanting to make it and him getting dragged into it. I didnt really know he would ask someone i thought he would of blown it off. But you know, ill take responsibility because it was my idea of doing it, i just dragged him into it Wormo. Sorry.

Well I can still make it, but I was concerned I was being used.

PT isnt the best place to store large info, but I have a method for shrinking large numbers I use, and the only other things I would store would be title and event message.

If you are close to finishing, go ahead and put yours out.

as u can see my site if for music n for people to make mixes n remixes

i need this code so my djs can make a countdown timer of when they will post a new song

i was gonna go ask cali to make the code for me but i seem to cant get a hold of him

and then me n topeka talked about me getting his job n he said the only way i can is if i could make a script xD
and he picked n it happened to be what i wanted

so i looked on the proboards code suport or whatever its called for the code so i wouldnt have to make it xD

then i saw u worm i few times so i looke around here n saw really nice codes by u so i asked u

n no im not using u for a contest... it isnt a contest...
i didnt have any idea to change the code in anyway.. just upload it to my site n show topeka from there

I will work on this again after I finish the MP bug find. Topeka can submit whatever they come up with as well.

for future reference, if I find a code I have written has been ripped and claimed as someone else's, I will respond very harshly. its akin to stealing. and I dont react well to thieves. that is a message for anyone reading.

You two can continue your argument via PM. This thread will be about the code development.
