can this work with the subject input and page jump, and couldnt you just round the quick reply then?

Safari I dont know about because I dont have it. IE just doesnt support it. similar to how FF doesnt support GLOW text. there is no cross browser fix for this CSS. I have seen the question come up many times on PBS about it.
