I thought the thread log was to track the individual posting? Why does it add it every time one opens a thread? Should it be doing that?

it tracks threads you have opened, whether you posted in them or not.

This code is working strange in IE. Instead of line breaks, it seems to be insert question marks, for me at least. I see it on this site as well.

hmmm.... I cleared the cookies and it persists. I've got IE8 If you don't see it, it's probably my browser so I won't worry about it too much.

I dont want to upgrade to IE8 until I know all the bugs are worked out. I can see if perhaps I can recreate it, but if its a IE8 thing Im not going to be able to fix it yet.
you are the first person to say anythign to me about it.

eveready, you said it does it on THIS site as well?
maybe it wants me to encode data before storing in the cookie... do the links still work?

version update v1.5: fixed a bug that made all the titles turn into "undefined" if it encountered a strange character in a thread title.

eveready, you said it does it on THIS site as well? maybe it wants me to encode data before storing in the cookie... do the links still work? Yes, it does it on this site for me as well. The links don't work, since the thread titles just run together making one long link. I don't use IE really at all, but I also just noticed that when I closed the browser window and then opened it again and reloaded the site, the thread log was empty... so the threads aren't being saved in the cookie or something. But I've never tried IE on a different computer to see if the result is the same.

do you have firefox on that same computer to see if it works for you there?
do you know how to do a screenshot? visit a bunch of different threads on this site, then type this into your URL:
javascript: alert(document.cookie)
then take a screenshot of the dialog box that pops open. perhaps if I saw how the cookie is being stored I can find a workaround.
