When? It's the first question I expect, to tell the truth. The right answer, in my opinion, is: certainly not after the book has been published. It's too late, perhaps. You cannot advertise your book six months after its release. But isn't it up to the publishing house to promote the book? Certainly, but I have always said that the author must collaborate in the promotion of his book (she wrote it, so it is a job that belongs to him). And if you self-publish, it's entirely up to you. The marketing plan must therefore be thought of first, almost close to publication . I started thinking about it before editing. I hadn't written anything, I just sparked some ideas in my head. Then I put everything in writing and talked about it with the publishing house. Here today I want to talk about some ideas to put into practice to promote our book . I wanted to divide the ideas into 3 groups: actions to perform on the blog actions to take on social media external actions on blogs and social networks Editorial promotion on the blog Some time ago we talked about how to promote a book on the blog , but today I want to say something Special Data more. The promotion of the book on the blog must follow a precise plan. Here's what I did for my book. Book widget : obviously once published. This is because I had to be sure of the release date and have an image of the final cover. The widget is linked to a page - internal or external to the blog, as you wish - so that page must be studied first. Book profile : in the widget we insert we can link both the profile on the publisher's website, and that of an online bookshop, and a page that we create on the blog, and, finally, an external landing page. What is the best choice? I would exclude the profile on the publishing house website. I would also exclude the book sheet that I create. That leaves the sales page on Amazon, for example, or the landing page. Series of posts : I came up with this idea, a series of articles in which to talk about this experience of mine , one per week. I designed 5 of them. I didn't want to create them with a self-referential and self-promotional tone, because I don't like it, even if they are partly self-referential and self-promotional anyway, but I wanted to talk about my experience so that it was useful to everyone.
