Since I do not want to steer a specific solution, in my request I'm mentioning "item" which you can translate to category or board. This translation must ofcourse be the same for all points. - Guests will not see a specific item
- members who are NOT in any membergroup will see the item
- members who are in specific membergroups will see the item
- members who are in other specific membergroups will NOT see the item
I don't want to bother guests with parts of the board they don't care about. I do want to know certain members, not in a (specific) group, that there is more they can access if wanted and authorised. I don't want to bother already authorised members(specific groups) with these aquisational messages. thx in advance

well categories are always a little easier since the forum has builtin options for that. you can already make it where guests cant see categories by clicking the box next to members.
however it gets more complicated with the next three bullet points.
members not in any group can access the category if you checkbox ALL of the posting rank boxes (and uncheck the box next to members). then you can also add a specific membergroup by clicking the box next to it. having it HIDE based on a membergroup is further complicated and would require coding.
maybe it would be better to just tell me what you are after and NOT be generalised about it. you cant really write a code where you can just plug the word "board" or "category" in and it changes its behavior.
