im trying to get the return key in the drop down, ive got some text that i use all the time in there, you dont just have to have UBBC. so i copied the beginning of one line of text(like before the h in the first word have of this line) to after the o in to in the line above it. so return is in copy and paste, but if i put in the code it ends up breaking the line in the code and it doesnt work
admin_ubbc += '<option value=\'add(" ", "")\'>Return</option>';
is there another way to get the return key in there. im posting or modifying everyday or putting my archives in order or whatever. and i am the laziest person in the world, im usually just laying in bed and just to move and hit the return key is a big deal

lolwut? its easier to click a button then to hit the return key?
you could try add("\n") but I dont know if it would just put those characters there or not. typically if you want a new line in a text area you just hit return

that didnt do anything. yea its easier for me, the mouse is already in my hand and my keyboard is on the bed and i have to take my hand off the mouse and bend to hit the return key. im not typing with the keyboard rite there, im just copying and pasting and moving stuff around in a post or copying. and pasting some info from another site into my posts. and im doing that stuff all day long, organizing my archives so it looks more professional

try this
admin_ubbc += '<option value=\'document.postForm.message.value+="\n"\'>Return</option>';
or maybe
admin_ubbc += '<option value=\'document.postForm.message.value+="\\n"\'>Return</option>';

the second one works but it takes the cursor off after, so you have to hit the mouse again to get it back on the post message or modify post form

hmm... maybe...
admin_ubbc += '<option value=\'document.postForm.message.value +="\\n"; document.postForm.message.focus(); \'>Return</option>';
other then that I have no clue

i just tried it with nothing in the post form and it skipped a line, but with text in it skips over all of the text in the whole form. you dont have to worry about, i really wanted to have it, but if you think of something

Its sending that newline to the message area AFTER whatever is already in there. figuring out where the caret is will make it more complicated.

That is how drop downs are. you cant really change their natural behavior.

copy paste the staff_custom_ubbc block and rename the variable to be admin2_custom_ubbc
in the last part you added
+ (pb_username.match(new RegExp('^('+staffNames+')$','')) ? sel_start + staff_custom_ubbc + sel_end : '') +
change that to be
+ (pb_username.match(new RegExp('^('+staffNames+')$','')) ? sel_start + staff_custom_ubbc + sel_end + sel_start + admin2_custom_ubbc + sel_end : '') +

i had to take the custom part out. now theres two table drop downs tho, i wanna keep the one at the end var sel_start = '<select onchange="do_ubbc(this);">'; var sel_end = '</select> '; var ubbc_str = sel_start + web_ubbc + sel_end + sel_start + text_ubbc + sel_end + sel_start + format_ubbc + sel_end + (pb_username.match(new RegExp('^('+admin+')$','')) ? sel_start + admin_ubbc + sel_end + sel_start + admin2_ubbc + sel_end : '') + sel_start + custom_ubbc + sel_end + sel_start + font_ubbc + sel_end + sel_start + size_ubbc + sel_end + sel_start + tables_ubbc + sel_end;
var ubbc_str2= sel_start + tables_ubbc + sel_end;
