the problem is that gap is browser dependant. which sounds weird to say but it is true.
in FF it puts some blank text before the <br> tag, but in IE it doesnt. which is why it was hard to track down. the <br> wasnt in your H/F but it came from PB itself. however it change its order depending on IE or FF.
eliminating the <BR> was th eonly option because what you wanted connected dont exist in the same level. some tables are global and some are local to main. pushing those 2 tables after each other in main essentially did what you wanted. adding in another DIV is going to add more gap at the top.

1. my events in the headers isnt working
2. theres a slight gap between the cbox and and the statistics table now that wasnt there.
3. im want to put my menu buttons as text in that table with twitter and new posts so i need it global. will it be possible to just enter them in as links for both members and guests with some extra coding
4. i want to add a 4 cell table underneath that and want that global as well. im not really putting anything in it rite now, some stuff, but i wanna have it there. attach all the tables together and remove all the lines seperating the cells and the new menu table
<table width="92%" cellpadding="4" cellspacing="1" align="center" class="bordercolor"> <tr> <td width="25%" class="windowbg2" vAlign="top"> <font size=2>Contents of Left Box</font> </td> <td width="25%" class="windowbg" vAlign="top"> <font size=2>Contents of Center Box</font> </td> <td width="25%" class="windowbg" vAlign="top"> <font size=2>Contents of Center Box</font> <td width="25%" class="windowbg2" vAlign="top"> <font size=2>Contents of Right Box</font> </td> </tr> </table>

menu buttons, which are just links to other pages, can be placed anywhere. Its only data that comes from the server that is restricted.

when you removed the cbox, you left some extra HTML in.
the top of that table should look like:
<table width="92%" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="1" align="center" id="theNotableNook"> <tr> <td width="13%" class="menutable" vAlign="top">
