In Settings/Characters ... I am having trouble adding alters to the list. I type member name in, then click done...but it doesn't register. Also, when the plugin searches my forum for members, they don't register. The forum not finding any members means it needs reindexing (as for the first question in the thread). It happened to me too, and it was because they were doing some maintenance to the forums. When they finished and the forum reindexed itself, I could add new alters again and find the members. exactly that. when the search server is down, it wont be able to find members to allow adding. they are supposedly changing it where you can still type in a username and it will find it. |

Hey there Wormopolis, Just completed building a new forum for a Werewolf:The Apocalypse game. I decided to use Alters for NPCs etc. I have installed both "Alters" and "Alter's Companion" I find it easy to add new alters attached to my name to use, everything looks fine, you can even select the Alter in the posts, however when hitting send it is not showing the Alter at all and just looks like the normal and ordinary account instead. houndsofhelloutlaw.boards.net/thread/4/tests-ignore?page=1&scrollTo=14Please help, it's very much appreciated! Check your key permissions. what are they set to?

Who can read everything... is set to "Everyone"
Who can write to everything... is set to "Members & Staff"

Im looking at the Laura Townsend post.. is it not showing something Im missing? that is the Alter right? the settings say that is an alter. do you not see that post?

No.. same template. However I did notice on an NPC profile that the coding was different on the template for the mini profile. So I changed it back from "Mini_Profile" to "Mini-Profile" in it's coding. Thanks to another admin who suggested so. But I checked the Alter afterwards and it looked the same. I don't know if it had a delay or something else worked and I did not realize.. :/

Hello, I seem to be having quite the problem with this plug in. When I go to add a user for the one of the alters I am trying to make for a member of my site the user's name doesn't show up no matter what I do. I have tried it with them as an admin and just a member it is as if the member doesn't exist. I can go to my member's page and they are there. Can you help me fix this? Or give me a clue as to why it is happening?

if a user's name doesnt show up in plugin settings, you need to have your site re-indexed

Hi Wormo! I love this plugin, but I have a few questions for you. I was finally able to get it to work at least partially. My members and I can post as the NPC names, however, I am having trouble figuring out how to add avatars to it. I've tried multiple times to link to pictures for it, but I can't seem to get them to show up. I've used photobucket and tinypic for the links. Is there something I'm missing? Also, what size should the avatars be? Thanks for your help! I run www.hookedonroleplaying.com |

It should be the direct URL to the image you have uploaded somewhere. what is an example of an avatar you are trying to use?

This is the link I was trying to use i57.tinypic.com/jjr6e8.jpg it's meant for layouts. Could I be formatting it wrong? |
