It seems to be working now in IE, dont have the other browsers so I cant check in those.
Would there be something wrong with the way it is ? You said you hated doing it that way...

I hate removing elements from the page because it can mess up future codes.
similar to how some people were doing things to the welcome table. they were deleting things instead of hiding them. this caused later codes to stop working.

So it removed the links in forum jump insteading of hiding?
Theres no other way to avoid the future problems?

hiding them didnt work in IE. I dont know of another way.

yes, if they expect those links to still be there. if they dont expect them there it wont
