divisionsoftriad.proboards.comWormo: I noticed something about the collapsing categories. When collapsed they match the size of the forum (the way I want it to be) but when you open it they expand and there is a black space on the end of the picture. Any clues? (I went through the coding thinking maybe something was setting it to a colspan that was equal to 1 greater than it should be (creating an empty cell) but didn't find anything.

the cells that are unhidden have pixel widths... what do those add up to?

exactly the same as the unhidden pixels. I specified their widths as an attempt to fix the problem

I modified the numbers to match up exactly to 775 including the cell-spacing and cell-padding numbers. Still getting the extra space when I expand the category.
Just as a test I removed the category splitter code. That made the table stretch. Something in that code is shortening the table to the right size but it's being undone when the category is expanded.

all I can think of is the sum of all the widths plus all the borders between cells adds up to more then the width of the category bar when its board are hidden.
try making one of the cells smaller by about 10 pixels and see if it stops changing size?

Shrunk the cell by 10 pix. Didn't fix it. Tried removing the individual cell resize code. Then the top one was wrong even when collapsed. The others still would expand when uncollapsed. Tried moving the individual resize code above the table resize code. Still wrong.

with(cenTab){ cellSpacing = 1; cellPadding = 1; border = 0; align = 'center'; width = '775px'; className = 'bordercolor'; appendChild(document.createElement('tbody')); }
add the red
