which reply code? the forced login one? and to answer your other question: when I was in 1st grade, they introduced us to a little program called LOGO. It had a triangle called a turtle, and you would write a long list of instructions like FD 50 RT 90 to draw lines on the screen. along with my blossoming interest in math, I started getting good at drawing 3D shapes and then more complex drawings. I once entered a contest sponsored by the high school Computer Club looking for burgeoning programmers. I wrote something like a 10 page instruction list to draw a 3D house. complete with windows and a badly shaped car in the driveway. I won first prize... A pack of 20 HD 3.5" disks (dont laugh.. that was quite the prize back then). They were multi-colored.. I gave a light blue one to a girl I liked. I went through several more languages throughout my school career. While in High school I discovered HyperCard on the macintosh. I got kinda crazy with it and was writing all the time. I even wrote a BBS (bulletin board system) in it that high school students could log in, play mini games I write in HyperCard, send Private Messages to each other, and make public posts. It wasnt as effective as systems are today. One of my friends continually hacked it to challenge me and make me rewrite it all the d**n time. It was called "The Particle Board". Through College I learned more languages, and while I was an intern at IBM they wanted me to learn the new language JavaScript in order to utilize it on the internal website they had. Since no one at the office knew anything about it, I started looking at codes written on the web already and putting together little things. One of the little codes I wrote I submitted to a javascript library and it somehow was reposted about 8 more times on other libraries. I think I once found it on a javascript library in Polish. all it did was create a dynamic calendar and let you assign links to the days... but apparently it was well received. I wonder if its still out there..? Lately the codes I have been writing have either been my own tinkering, a response to a request, or to solve a problem I find myself. I still enjoy critique's from better programmers like Triad, Eton, Wrighty, etc... and I have been utilizing some suggestions they have given me. An easy way to see how to write better is to look at how other programmers write, and try to figure out how they did something. If you blatantly take something someone wrote however, its a good idea to give credit. that a good answer? Yes it was. Thank you. I wished I would have had a turtle in the 1st grade! (well I did but it was a pet not a pc) ;D God this place is Ugly! ha ha. JMO!! blue on black, worms! LOL. I need to come back more often, sorry.
